Abstract The discussion will focus on how Sustainable Design was incorporated at the new I-84/I-87 Interchange Maintenance Facility for the New York State Thruway Authority. Attend and learn how the LEED Rating System can be applied to industrial facilities.
Biography of Melissa Targett (PS) Melissa Target is an Environmental Scientist specializing in sustainable building advising. She currently develops and manages project-specific, practical, and appropriate strategies for sustainability. Her work focuses on project team guidance, education and coordination for sustainable design strategies and technologies. She also provides technical assistance and implementation support as well as LEED documentation coordination and review through all phases of project development spanning a variety of project types and market sectors. As Parsons Brinckerhoff's NY office LEED Champion, Melissa responsibilities include teaching LEED / green building trainings and workshops, coordinating and scheduling brown bag seminars focusing on green technologies and strategies and providing support to employees attempting to obtain a LEED credential.
